What is Coffee Oil?

Coffee oil is extracted through cold pressing from upcycled roasted coffee beans. The oil is brown in colour with a strong coffee aroma. Even though our coffee oil has a coffee aroma, the oil is a carrier oil, not a coffee essential oil.

It is high in essential fatty acids like palmitic acid and linoleic acid. When coffee oil is used in cold process soap making it adds a conditioning effect to the soap. It also adds a lot of creaminess to the soap and it adds to the hardness of the bar.

Our coffee oil is not the same as green coffee oil. Our coffee oil is extracted from roasted coffee beans, whereas the green coffee oil is extracted from the raw, unroasted green coffee beans.

What is Coffee Oil Used For?

Coffee oil is often used in skincare products like facial oils, eye creams, serums, massage oils, body scrubs and body butters.

It is rich in antioxidants which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, strengthen the skin barrier, for moisture retention and to even out the skin tone. It is also said to have anti inflammatory benefits that can help soothe irritated skin and reduce redness.

Coffee oil can also be used in hair care products like hair oils, shampoos, conditioners and hair masks. It is used in hair care because of its ability to strengthen hair and leave it looking shiny.
