Summer Essential Oil Blends for Diffusers

Summer is full of beautiful scents, from fragrant flours and citrus fruits to refreshing herbs and the fresh outdoors!

There’s no better way to bring classic summer scents into the home than with a diffuser! We’ve come up with the best summery essential oil blends that not only smell amazing, but also uplift mood, calm the mind and leave you feeling energised!

Which Essential Oils Are Best In Summer?

During the warm summer months florals, citrus and refreshing scents are perfect! They bring a fresh, uplifting aroma into the home, helping you to feel energised and positive!

The top essential oils for summer are:

  • Bergamot - This is a sweet, citrus aroma with floral undertones and it is great at uplifting mood.
  • Lavender - This has a distinctive floral scent and it provides calming effects.
  • Peppermint - This is a fresh, minty aroma with energising and uplifting properties.
  • Lemon - This has a sharp, citrusy aroma that can reduce stress and boost your mood.
  • Eucalyptus - This has a fresh, camphorous scent and it can improve mental clarity and focus.

These essential oils are great on their own, but they work best when used in blends. Not only do blends create a unique, well-balanced aroma, they also allow you to enjoy the natural benefits of each essential oil.

How To Use The Blends In A Room Spray

Instead of using these summer blends in a diffuser, you can also try using them in a room spray!

Here’s a simple room spray recipe…

Ingredients:

Method:

1. Weigh your ingredients

  • Weigh your water in a jug
  • Put your gloves and safety glasses on
  • Weigh the geogard ultra into a separate container
  • In a separate bowl, weigh the polysorbate 80 and essential oil blend and mix.

2. Mix your ingredients together

  • Add your geogard ultra into the water and mix thoroughly with a whisk until it has dissolved. This takes a few minutes.
  • Add your polysorbate 80 and essential oil mixture into the water and mix well until combined.
  • If it foams too much during mixing, leave it for a few hours before bottling.

How To Scale Up The Blends For The Room Spray

For recipes, always measure essential oils in grams rather than drops. Although drops are convenient for diffusers, they're not accurate enough for formulations.

Here’s each blend scaled up in grams for the room spray recipe…

We don’t recommend making a room spray with the Energy Blend, as spearmint essential oil has very low usage rates. The amount of essential oil you could use in the room spray would be very small, and it wouldn’t work very well.
